What’s an event without entertainment? There are so many options to choose from, whether it be a band, a firework display, a magic show or something competitive like laser tag. Obviously choosing the right entertainment will have a massive impact on your event. Here are a few ideas to get the ball rolling and to provide top quality entertainment for your guests.

Remember your audience

Before you jump in at the deep end, keep in mind the size of your audience and the size of the venue. Additionally, the demographic is important to make sure you are doing something that will suit all ages and the type of the event.

Music

Music is always a must have for parties but choosing the right style depends on the event. A karaoke provides much amusement, or a DJ will get everyone on the dance floor. Live bands are great for a birthday, whether that be for a 16^th or 60^th. You could also have live musicians such as guitarists, violinists or saxophonists to make your event really stand out. String instruments are a popular choice and can play some sophisticated classical music or something more contemporary depending on your requirements. You could also have a brass band or even a jazz band! Both would work well at an awards ceremony or formal dinner. A cover band is a fabulous idea, particularly if your event has a theme. Your guests will enjoy their favourite tunes, whether that be Take That, ABBA or The Beatles!

Competitive Games

For a more interactive approach, laser tag is a great choice and great fun for most events from hen parties to birthdays. This can be enjoyed by anyone aged 6 upwards so is very inclusive. You can play solo or in teams and the laser guns light up the team colours, so you know who to shoot and who not to.

Circus Entertainment

Circus entertainment has increased over the last few years due to Cirque du Soleil and are a popular choice at any event. The performers are guaranteed to stun your audience and keep them on the edge of their seats! You could have acts such as aerial performers or acrobatic acts or why not add a bit of heat and have fire performers! Trapeze and tightrope performances will draw your guests’ eyes upwards as they gaze in wonder at the amazing stunts.

Fireworks

Fireworks are a classic end to any event and work well for birthdays or for bonfire night. They can be various colours and displayed in a sequence along with music to produce a truly spectacular event.

Dancers

Dancers are a great addition to any event and can vary from ballet dancers to street dancers to ballroom. They can be interactive, so your guests could learn a few moves from different styles – whether that be 1920s style, a samba or the tango. Ballet dancers are good for a sophisticated dinner or even a Christmas party.

Fairground

A fairground is a fun addition to any event and great for all ages. They are great for a summer ball or great for kids and adults looking to embrace their inner child! You can have various rides at your fairground. A Ferris wheel will go down a treat and allow your guests to look at your event from up high! Other fun rides could include dodgems, carousels, a helter skelter or a tea cup ride.

Children

For children’s entertainment, a funny and interactive show will really entertain them. These are great for family events and children’s birthday parties and can even be a show based around a favourite movie or character. You could also have magicians or entertainers such as clowns or storytellers, which will amuse the kids and keep them entertained! Magicians are not just for the kids; close-up magicians or illusionists are great for any family or corporate event that you may have.
